Merlot 2020 - 91 pts Decanter - BISCI Wines

MERLOT-2020-DECANTER-BISCIDecanter awards 91 points to Bisci’s Merlot IGT Marche

Bisci’s Merlot IGT Marche has been awarded 91 points by Decanter, a recognition that confirms the quality and elegance of this wine.

The wine is made from 100% Merlot grapes, grown in the estate’s organically farmed vineyards. Planted from 2001 onwards, the vineyards are located on calcareous-clay soils with southern exposure, ideal conditions for achieving full ripeness and a fine balance between structure and freshness.

Harvest takes place in the first days of October. Fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing in vitrified concrete and at least three months of bottle ageing, a process designed to preserve the varietal integrity of Merlot while enhancing its aromatic profile.

On the sensory level, the wine shows an intense ruby red colour. The nose is fruity, with notes of ripe blackberries and delicate herbal hints. On the palate it stands out for its sweet, supple tannins, overall harmony and an elegant, lingering finish.

The 91-point score awarded by Decanter further confirms the work of the Bisci family in enhancing the Matelica terroir, also through international grape varieties interpreted with consistency, precision and a strong sense of place.
