Decanter awards 95 points to Verdicchio di Matelica – Vigneto Fogliano 2021
The Vigneto Fogliano 2021 received a score of 95 points from Decanter, a recognition that confirms the quality and elegance of this vintage.
The wine is made from 100% Verdicchio di Matelica grapes, carefully selected from the Fogliano Vineyard, the oldest in the estate.
The vines, planted in 1978, grow on calcareous-clay soil with southern exposure. Its structure allows for a long aging potential, reaching its full expression after bottle maturation.
From a production standpoint, Bisci has obtained organic certification (CCPB) starting from the 2019 vintage, giving the Vigneto Fogliano 2021 additional value in terms of sustainability.
On the sensory level, the wine shows a straw yellow color with greenish reflections, an intense and complex aroma with floral, fruity notes and hints of chlorophyll. On the palate, it offers good structure, sapidity, freshness, and persistence.
This new recognition for the Vigneto Fogliano 2021 confirms the Bisci Family’s commitment to enhancing the Matelica terroir and highlights the reputation of the Vigneto Fogliano as one of the estate’s most expressive crus.
