Decanter awards 94 points to Verdicchio di Matelica – Vigneto Fogliano 2020
Vigneto Fogliano 2020 has received a score of 94 points from Decanter, a recognition that highlights the quality and elegance of this vintage.
The wine is made from 100% Verdicchio di Matelica grapes, sourced from a careful selection of the Fogliano vineyard, the oldest vineyard of the estate.
The vines, planted in 1978, grow on calcareous-clay soils with southern exposure. Its structure makes it suitable for long ageing, reaching its fullest expression after bottle maturation.
From a sensory perspective, the wine shows a straw yellow colour with greenish highlights, and an intense, complex bouquet with floral and fruity notes and hints of chlorophyll. On the palate, it offers good structure, pronounced sapidity, freshness and persistence.
This new recognition for Vigneto Fogliano 2020 confirms the Bisci family’s commitment to enhancing the Matelica terroir and underlines the reputation of Vigneto Fogliano as one of the estate’s most expressive crus.
