The 2001 Verdicchio di Matelica Vigneto Fogliano adds a great complexity and authority, with balsamic, resinous, and spicy Gewurtztramire-like sensations and a great continuity and a lenght to the flow. These are among the few Italian white wines which can be cellared, and the Vigneto Fogliano is a wine which can easily age five or six years.

I adore the wines of this small estate, high in the mountains interior of the Marches in a zone with an unmistakable personality of its own. And no one manages to bring it out like this producer and the consummate talents of their winemaker Paolo Caciorgna.
