September 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

During this difficult period and right before the harvest the Matelica producers were able to finalize some discussions that were on the table since some time.<\/p>\n

The matter under evaluation was related to make more evident the ‘Cru’ status of the Matelica area. To put the real focus on the territory.<\/p>\n

The conclusion was that it is allowed to have on the label the denominations:
\nMatelica DOC and Matelica DOCG.<\/p>\n

No more Verdicchio grape in the denomination. Just the name of the territory
\n(Even if the wineries can decide to keep Verdicchio on the label).<\/p>\n

The decision has been taken by the consortium and all burocratical process are ready to be started.<\/p>\n
